Currently, as per the report, 2.0 holds the record as the highest-grossing Tamil film, with earnings of over ₹700 crores. Time will tell if Kanguva can surpass this and become the top-grossing Kollywood film. Disha Patani stars as the female lead, and Studio Green, in collaboration with UV Creations, produced this large-scale film, with Devi Sri Prasad composing the soundtrack.

When did the ‘Kanguva to break ₹2000 crore mark’ buzz start?

In an interview with Galatta, KE Gnanavel Raja was asked about the ₹1000 crore club of Indian cinema and if Kanguva will be able to gross the amount globally. To this, the producer replied that he was expecting ₹2000 crore at the box office and asked the audience not to underestimate the collection of movies.

"I am expecting ₹2000 crore box office collection, and why are you underestimating it with ₹1000 crore mark," he said. After his statement, fans trolled him massively.
