Tamil actor Raghu Balaiah, 70, dies of suffocation in Chennai

Tamil actor Raghu Balaiah, popularly known as Junior Balaiah, died early Thursday, November 2. Reportedly, he died due to suffocation at his house in Valasaravakkam, Chennai. Junior Balaiah, a son of veteran actor TS Balaiah, has featured in supporting roles throughout his career spanning over 40 years.
Junior Balaiah's funeral is to be held today
Junior Balaiah was born in Chennai as Raghu Balaiah on 28 June 1953. He was the third son of actor T. S. Balaiah. The actor died at the age of 70. As per multiple reports, the actor's funeral is said to be held this evening. More details regarding his last rites are still awaited.

The late actor made his debut in 1975 with Melnaattu Marumagal, starring Sivakumar, Laurance Pourtale, Kamal Haasan and Jayasudha. He is known for his roles in films such as Chithi, Vazhkai, Chinna Papa Periya Papa, Karagattkaran, Sundara Kandam, Winner and Saattai, among others. In 2019, he was seen in a role in Ajith Kumar's Nerkonda Paarvai, which is the official Tamil remake of Pink. His last film was Yennanga Sir Unga Sattam, which released in 2021. Apart from films he has also been part of a crime-thriller web series Mugilan (2020), starring Karthik Raj and Ramya Pandian in the lead roles.
He has also been part of several TV shows Chithi, Vazhkai and Chinna Papa Periya Papa Season 1.
