Actor Dinesh Phadnis, most popular for playing the role of Fredericks in one of the longest-running TV shows of all time CID, is reportedly not doing well and has been admitted to a hospital in Mumbai. According to a report in GossipsTV, Phadnis is battling for his life.
Reportedly, Phadnis suffered a heart attack and is in critical condition, admitted to a hospital in the city. According to a report in IWM Buzz, a source said, “Dinesh Phadnis has been battling for life, with ventilator support.”
Phadnis' family and CID role
On social media, Phadnis keeps sharing photos with his granddaughter Dhruvi regularly. He has also shared some photos with his daughter on social media.
While there were rumours of the long-running show CID making a comeback with a reboot, the talks have not materialised yet. Meanwhile, the reports of Phadnis' hospitalisation have come as a shock to many fans of the popular crime show, of which he was a very integral part. The popular TV show ran for over two decades.
CID and its long run on TV
CID started in 1998 and ran till 2018. In it, Shivaji Satam was seen playing the role of ACP Pradyuman, Aditya Srivastava essayed Senior Inspector Abhijeet and Dayanand Shetty played the role of Senior Inspector Daya. With its long run, the show has become a cult of sorts among TV watchers.
Apart from CID, Phadnis also did small parts in a couple of Bollywood films. He featured in a small role in the 1999 Aamir Khan starrer Sarfarosh, followed by the 2000 release Mela, also featuring the latter in the starring role.
