Kamya Punjabi claps back at troll for questioning her outfit during Diwali shopping spree

In a recent incident, television actress Kamya Punjabi, known for her current role as Didun in Neerja- Ek Nayi Pehchaan, faced moral policing during her Diwali shopping spree. Kamya was wearing a T-shirt teamed with shorts and a social media user objected to her clothing choice. However, the actress, who has a history of standing up against trolls, responded with a witty comeback.

Kamya's diwali shopping turns controversial

Kamya Punjabi shared glimpses of her Diwali shopping on social media wherein she was donning a casual pink top paired with white shorts. However, a social media user took offense and attempted to moral police her attire. The comment suggested that Kamya's choice of clothes for Diwali shopping was inappropriate.

Unfazed by the trolling, Kamya Punjabi delivered a sharp comeback, questioning whether she should have opted for traditional attire and called upon the media to document her shopping in a grander fashion.

The social media user wrote, "“Aisa kapda pehan kar tum diwali ki shopping kar rahi ho. Shame on you Bhagwan tum par kehar dalega dakh lena. Gita ka gyaan hota toh ye sab nhi karti. Bhagwan tumko satbuddi de (sic). (Shame on you for wearing such clothes for Diwali shopping. God will punish you. If you had knowledge of Gita, you wouldn’t have done that. May God give you wisdom.)"

Kamya replied, "Kyu? Lehenga pehenke, makeup lagaake media ko saath le jaana chahiye tha kya (sic). (Why? Should I have worn a lehenga, applied makeup and asked paps to accompany me?)"
