Tina Datta and Rashami Desai shared screen space on Colours TV show Uttaran. While Tina played the lead role of Iccha Bundela, Rashami was seen as the vamp Tapasya Thakur Rathore. Their characters shared a love-hate relationship and according to rumours, their rivalry carried into their real lives. In a recent interview, Tina opened up on her equation with Rashami on and off the set.

Tina Datta on her rumoured feud with Rashami Desai

There were rumours of a fall out between Rashami and Tina while they worked on Uttaran. Rashami played the antagonist and Tina was the protagonist in the daily soap. The reported cause was the insecurities between them. Tina, however, stayed firm that the rumours were untrue. She said that they were and remain close friends.

In a conversation with Bollywood Bubble, the Hum Rahein Na Rahein Hum actress said, “Me and Rashami are actually very good friends. But when you’re doing a daily soap where she is portraying a grey character and I’m the positive lead in the show, there are times when you are doing a scene and are in the mood, because as an actor you have to be in your character.”

The actress shared that just because they were playing opposing characters, people assumed they were feuding. On the show, Nandish Sandhu was cast opposite both Tina and Rashami. He later went on to marry Rashami in real life, but their union ended a few years later and they went their separate ways.

Tina said that she and Rashami are still close friends now and even live in the same society. The actress acknowledged if one’s show is successful, rumours tend to float and nothing can be done about that. On the work front, Tina Datta is currently starring as Surili Ahuja Banerjee in the Sony TV show Hum Rahe Na Rahe Hum.
