Zakir Khan On Comparisons With Kapil Sharma After Replacing Latter's Show: Muqabala Nahi Hai...

Zakir Khan has made his TV debut with the show Aapka Apna Zakir. The comedian, who has earned a huge fan base with his stand-up acts, will be serving as a host to the show. It will be a comedy program where celebs will grace the stage to promote their upcoming movies and web series. Since the announcement, the comedian has been in the news as his show replaced comedian Kapil Sharma's hit show The Kapil Sharma Show on Sony TV. Owing to this, people started comparing him to Sharma.

Now, Khan has reacted to comparisons and said that his show might have replaced Sharma's show on Sony TV, but he can never compete with him. Sharma's comic show now streams on OTT giant, Netflix.

I am not ok with the comparisons: Zakir Khan

In an interview with TV9, Zakir Khan praised Kapil Sharma and said that he is "not okay" with the comparisons. He added that it was Sharma who paved the way for other comedians in the film industry. "He is a very big artiste, how can I compete with him. Kapil is a pioneer of our work. When his shows became extremely successful, I benefited while sitting in Delhi as a small-time comedian. I benefited even later when I moved to Mumbai," he continued.

Khan added that he has immense respect for Sharma and there can never be a competition between the two. "I am from the house which lit up because of him. I am not ashamed to say this. I respect him a lot, and he meets me with a lot of love as well. So how will we compete? We will just do our work," he concluded.

Zakir Khan's third episode will feature Vedaa stars John Abraham, Sharvari Wagh and Abhishek Banerjee. The show will go on air today, August 17 and tomorrow (Sunday) August 18.
