Jyotika defends husband Suriya for Kanguva's negative reviews

On Sunday, Jyotika took to her Instagram handle and penned a long note calling Kanguva a "spectavle in cinema" and expressed that she is "proud" of her husband for the dream to take cinema forward. She also defended her husband's movie by saying "flaws are a part of most Indian films."

She admitted that the background score was "jarring" but defended it by saying just for 1/2 hour while the rest of the hours the sound was fine. She also expressed her shock on reading the negative reviews about the movie and slammed for not doing the same to the "most unintellectual big budget films" that objectify women, and have double-meaning dialogues or over-the-top action sequences.

Meanwhile, the movie is made on a reported budget of ₹350 crore. It features epic battle scenes and grand visuals with the story spanning 1,500 years into the past.
