Mangalavaram box office collection day 5: Payal Rajput starrer enters second week with ₹1.10

Payal Rajput starrer Mangalavaaram opened to mixed reviews and lukewarm numbers at the box office. The murder mystery thriller, written and helmed by Ajay Bhupati, narrates a gripping tale about a woman who is connected to all the murders happening in her village every Tuesday.

After opening at ₹2.75 crore, the film has been witnessing a drop in collections every day. As per the early estimates by Sacnilk, the mystery-thriller has earned ₹1.10 crore on the fifth day of its release in India. Hence, taking the total collection to ₹9.10 crore. Mangalavaaram had an overall 18.93 per cent Telugu occupancy on Tuesday, November 21, with maximum ticket sales for the night show - 22.41 per cent.

Apart from Payal Rajput, the film also stars Divya Pillai, Nandita Swetha, and Shravan Reddy in the lead roles. It released in five languages - Hindi, Kannada, Malayalam, Telugu and Tamil. In Kannada, the film is titled Mangalavaaram, in Hindi as Mangalavaar, in Tamil as Chevvaikizhamai, and in Malayalam as Chovvazhcha.

Directed by Ajay Bhupathi, marks the second collaboration between Payal Rajput and the director after RX100 (2018), starring Kartikeya Gummakonda, Rao Ramesh and Ramki, in the lead.  RX 100 was a box office hit and now it needs to be seen if Mangalavaram brings the RX 100 charm to the filmmaker.  

Mangalavaaram is produced by Swathi Reddy Gunupati, Suresh Varma M., and Ajay Bhupathi, under Mudhra Media Works and A Creative Works. The music was composed by B. Ajaneesh Loknath.
