Kannada actor Ashika Ranganath has been announced as the female lead opposite Akkineni Nagarjuna in the upcoming action entertainer, Naa Saami Ranga. Recently, the makers unveiled the first look of the actress as Varalakshmi. In the character poster, the actress can be seen donning traditional attire. For the unversed, Ashika, known for her noteworthy performances in Kannada hits such as Crazy Boy (2016) and Raambo 2 (2018), marked her Telugu debut earlier this year with Amigos, co-starring Nandamuri Kalyanram.

Directed by choreographer-turned-director Vijay Binny, the film is set to hit theaters during the Sankranti festival. If local media reports are to be believed, the Naa Saami Ranga unit is struggling to stick to the planned shooting schedule, and as a result the shooting stage has been extended. Reportedly, the makers are now trying their best to wrap up the shoot by Thursday, December 7 so that the post-production work can begin at the earliest, and the film can be ready for release by January 12, the date announced earlier.
