Shruti Haasan's Monster Machine music video has a Salaar connection
Shruti Haasan will play the leading lady in Salaar opposite Prabhas. The movie also stars Prithviraj Sukumaran, Tinnu Anand and Jagapathi Babu.
Yesterday saw the release of Shruti Haasan's new independent song titled Monster Machine. In a recent interview, the actress-singer-musician spoke about the contribution of Salaar director Prashanth Neel towards the production of the song. Shruti Haasan is also a part of Prashanth Neel’s upcoming spectacle, sharing screenspace with Prabhas and Prithviraj Sukumaran.

The actor was in an interview with Galatta where she spoke at length about the conceptualisation and the production of Monster Machine. Haasan informed that for the song's video shoot, Salaar unit permitted her to use parts of the set they were not using. She talked about Prashanth Neel’s kindness when he insisted that Shruti use their production manager for the shoot as well, and recalls thinking for the first time, “Oh, this is how people get together and make dreams come true.' So, it was really beautiful."
She explained why the gesture meant so much to her, adding “They're not just saying, 'Be the heroine of our film.' They're saying, 'Be our friend and how can we support you creatively.' And, so, I found this little community of friends.”

Shruti also spoke about the change in her approach while selecting films or projects to work on. She said, “Now I aim to follow my instinct as a person,” further speaking about the importance of enjoying your work, and giving one’s warmth and generosity to the people one is working with. Shruti added that she wishes she had learnt to do this earlier in her career.
The actress, who is also acting an international production The Eye alongside actors like Linda Marlowe and Mark Rowley, spoke about how working on films as diverse as Salaar and The Eye remain the same, for the kind of energy they carried on sets during making. The Luck actress added, “When I meet people halfway, who are loving and giving and generous of spirit, I really enjoy the process so much."
