Silk Smitha Birth anniversary: Biopic on actress announced, Chandrika Ravi to essay the titular role

Actress and dancer Silk Smitha's biopic has been announced and the title role in the film will be essayed by Chandrika Ravi, who appeared in Nandamuri Balakrishna’s Veera Simha Reddy. The first poster of the film was also released by the makers as the title on it read, Chandrika Ravi as Silk Smitha- The Untold Story. Silk predominantly worked in the Tamil and Telugu film industries and was known for her erotic roles onscreen.

On the occasion of Silk Smitha's birth anniversary, the biopic on the famed actress was announced. Due to her bold roles onscreen, she earned the title of a sex symbol. Chandrika, who will essay the lead role, was seen flirting with the camera as she aimed to channel her inner Silk Smitha. She sported the classic Silk Smitha hairstyle and even nailed the sensual expressions.

The yet-untitled film will be released in Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, Malayalam and Kannada languages. Interestingly, a few movies based on Silk Smitha’s life have already come out earlier. What new will Chandrika starrer have to offer will be interesting to look forward to.

She became one of India's most popular sex symbol of the 1980s and early 1990s, as well as one of the most sought-after erotic actresses in South Indian cinema in the 1980s.
