The upcoming Telugu movie Aadikeshava, starring Vaishnav Tej and Sreeleela, was recently postponed for release. The film is directed by Srikanth N Reddy, who is making his directorial debut with this project.

The Aadikeshava teaser, that was released a few months ago, promised the film to be brimming with violence and gory bloodshed. Besides its violent, red-hued visuals, the film’s teaser also caught attention for its similarities to the Chiranjeevi film Acharya. Seemingly, both films had extensive, elaborate set up of a temple town in their script.

We included temple shots for positive vibe, says Aadikeshava director

When asked about the same, director Srikanth N Reddy dismissed the possibilities of any obvious similarities. The filmmaker also clarified that in his film, the temple part will be for less than a duration of 10 minutes, and that they had added the temple shots ‘purely to create a positive vibe in the teaser visuals.’ Srikanth concluded by saying, “We will provide a clear answer with the trailer.”

Yesterday, the Aadikeshava makers sent a disappointment the way of Telugu film-goers by cancelling the trailer launch event at the nth hour.

Aadikeshava was earlier slated for November 10

The film’s male lead Vaishnav Tej made his acting debut 2 years ago with the much-acclaimed film Uppena. However, the Uppena actor has not had a successful film since. Hence, a lot is riding on Aadikeshava’s box office performance, for Vaishnav Tej in particular. Aadikeshava’s supporting cast includes prominent actors like Malayalam actor Joju George and Aparna Das. Popular music director GV Prakash Kumar has composed music for the film.

Initially, Aadikeshava was slated to release on November 10. But reportedly, the makers decided to push the release date because of the ongoing World cup where India is performing incredibly well. Aadikeshava is produced by Suryadevara Naga Vamsi under Sithara Entertainments.
