New Delhi: Air India Express will operate its inaugural flight to Ayodhya from the national capital on December 30 and will commence scheduled daily service on the route from January 16.

The airport will be inaugurated before the consecration ceremony at the Ram temple in Ayodhya on January 22.
In a release on Wednesday, Air India Express said the inaugural flight IX 2789 on December 30 is scheduled to depart from Delhi at 1100 hours and land in Ayodhya at 1220 hours. From Ayodhya, IX 1769 is scheduled to depart for Delhi at 1250 hours and arrive at 1410 hours
IndiGo also plans to operate flights to Ayodhya
Ayodhya will be the 86th domestic destination for IndiGo, which will make it the first airline to operate out of the airport. On December 30, 2023, the first flight from Delhi to Ayodhya is scheduled to arrive. On January 6, 2024, commercial operations for the direct route between Delhi and Ayodhya will begin. On January 11, 2024, additional tri-weekly flights will connect Ahmedabad and Ayodhya.
On December 8, Jyotiraditya Scindia, the minister of civil aviation, declared that the airport would be completed by the end of the month, and Prime Minister Narendra Modi would inaugurate it.
