The Bihar Police have seized radioactive substances worth around Rs 850 crore from Bihar’s Gopalganj district and arrested 3 persons.
Gopalganj: The Bihar Police have seized radioactive substances worth around Rs 850 crore from Bihar’s Gopalganj district prompting the law enforcement agencies to launch a probe into the matter. According to the police, the radioactive substances, weighing around 50 grams, were seized from the custody of three people, who are being interrogated.
As per the Bihar police, the seized radioactive substances are suspected to be Californian. A case has been registered into the matter and an investigation has been initiated.
The police sources stated that the value of the recovered material from the three people is estimated to be around Rs 850 crore in the international market.
According to the information, the police are conducting an inquiry to ascertain, in what form the radioactive substance, suspected to be Californian, was to be used. The police are interrogating the three individuals, to ascertain the facts.
The police have arrested all three accused identified as Chhotalal Prasad, a resident of UP’s Kushinagar District, Chandan Gupta, a resident of Gopalganj and Harendra Ram, a resident of Mohammadpur.
Further legal action into the matter is being taken.
