Bomb Scare in Delhi's Select City Walk and Ambience; Several Malls Listed in Threat Mail

New Delhi: A bomb threat email has been received by several malls in Delhi-NCR including Select City Walk and Ambience Mall.

The malls were evacuated and a thorough search was conducted by the police.

Delhi-NCR Malls Receive Bomb Threat

A bomb threat email has been received by several malls in the Delhi-NCR region including Select City Walk and the Ambience Mall.

The authorities evacuated the mall, bomb squad reached the spot and a thorough search was conducted by the police officials.

The threat seems to be a hoax as nothing suspicious was found at the malls.

Delhi Hospitals Receive Bomb Threat

Apart from the malls, bomb threats were also received by several hospitals in Delhi.

The bomb threat email was received by AIIMS Delhi, Moolchand Hospital and Apollo Hospital among others.

This comes amid the ongoing doctors' protest against the rape and murder of RG Kar Medical College and Hospital's trainee doctor in Kolkata.

Threat Mail to Blow Up Guwahati Mall

Just yesterday, on August 19, authorities of a posh mall in the heart of Assam’s Guwahati received a bomb threat from an unknown organisation, leading to an evacuation of the shopping arena, police said.

The City Centre Mall, located close to the state secretariat, was evacuated around 4 pm, with the authorities initially attributing the reason for the sudden closure to “technical issues”.

A senior officer of Assam Police told PTI that an email was received by the mall authorities about the presence of a bomb on the premises.

"The mail was sent to 75 locations across India. We learned that there were a total of 75 recipients in the address bar. It threatened to blow up the mall with a bomb,” he said.
