BREAKING: Earthquake Of Magnitude 3.7 Hits Manipur's Kamjong
An earthquake of magnitude 3.7 on the Richter scale on Saturday hit the Northeastern state of Manipur's Kamjong.
Imphal: An earthquake of magnitude 3.7 on the Richter scale on Saturday hit the Northeastern state of Manipur. The earthquake reportedly hit Manipur’s Kamjong area at around 7.50 pm leaving people fearful and in a chaotic situation. No loss of life or property has been reported in the state after the seismological incident.
According to the National Center for Seismology (NCS), the nodal agency of the Government of India for monitoring earthquake activity in the country, stated that the earthquake's epicentre was located at a depth of 85 km in Manipur’s Kamjong.
The concerned department of the Manipur government is ascertaining information regarding any loss of lives and property.
At around 5.15 pm, another earthquake of magnitude 4.1 was reported in the Indian Ocean on Saturday evening. The quake was centred at a depth of 10 km in the Indian Ocean.
On Friday, an earthquake of magnitude 3.2 had jolted Himachal Pradesh’s Lahaul and Spiti. However, no report of casualties surfaced after the incident.
