#BREAKING: Fire Dept To Cancel NOC of Building Where Rau's IAS Study Circle is Functioning

New Delhi: Almost two days after the tragic deaths of UPSC aspirants following drowning due to waterlogging in the basement of the Rau's IAS Study Circle, the fire department is cancelling the NOC of the coaching institute's building.

The fire department, in a statement has said that the process to cancel the No-Objection Certificate (NOC) has been started.

In an official statement, the Fire Department has said, “Delhi Fire Department started the process of cancelling the NOC of the building in which Rau IAS coaching was functioning. NOC of the building will be cancelled."

Coaching Institute Running ‘Illegal’ Library in the Basement

According to the Fire Department, a No-Objection Certificate for the basement was given to the Rau's IAS Study Circle but the usage of the basement was to be limited to storage and parking.

However, the institute used the basement as a library ‘illegally’; a complaint regarding the same was also filed by an IAS aspirant to the MCD, a month before the accident.

However, there was no action on the complaint or the reminders that were sent after the complaint, till less than a week before the tragic incident.
