A massive earthquake of 4.9 magnitude has hit Jammu Kashmir in the morning today, followed by another earthquake; people are being moved to safer places.

Baramulla: Jammu and Kashmir was hit by massive earthquakes in the morning today; one was of magnitude 4.9.

So far, there are no reports of loss of life or damage in the affected areas.

Earthquake of 4.9 Magnitude Jolts J&K

The Baramulla area of Jammu and Kashmir was hit by massive back-to-back earthquakes today morning; the highest was of 4.9 magnitude.

According to the National Centre of Seismology, “EQ of M: 4.9, On: 20/08/2024 06:45:57 IST, Lat: 34.17 N, Long: 74.16 E, Depth: 5 Km, Location: Baramulla, Jammu and Kashmir.”

No Damage, Loss of Life Reported So Far, Tremors Caught on CCTV

As of now, there have not been any reports of damage of public property or loss of life in the earthquakes that jolted Jammu and Kashmir.

The tremors of the earthquake were also felt in Poonch; the exact moment of the earthquake is also caught on CCTV.

Man Jumps Off Building to Save Himself from Earthquake

An incident has been reported of a man jumping off a building, to save his life from the earthquake that hit Baramulla today.

A man jumped from a building during the earthquake in Baramulla, Jammu and Kashmir. He has been shifted to Government Medical College Baramulla for treatment.
