A massive fire broke out at two commercial buildings in Noida Sector 67. No casualty reported so far.
Noida: A massive fire broke out at the offices of two companies in Noida's Sector 67 on Saturday afternoon leading to major chaos in the area. The fire, which reportedly broke out due to some fault in an electrical equipment, led to the spread of fire rapidly causing a plume of smoke emanating high in the sky. On information, the local and the fire personnel along with several fire tenders rushed to spot and efforts were initiated to douse the fire.
According to the information, no loss of life and injury has been reported so far in the incident. The fire-fighters are working to control the fire and the cooling process is being carried out. The loss of property will be ascertained once the cooling process is completed, an official said.
Police Are Probing the incident to Ascertain the Cause of Fire
During the process to control the fire, apart from the fire tenders, the crane fire tenders were also used to douse the fire on the upper floor of the commercial building.
As the fire broke out, the people trapped in the building were evacuated and timely shifted to a safer place, due to which no casualty or injury was reported.
The cause of the fire is not known yet, the police are trying to ascertain the reason behind the fire.
A senior police official stated that the efforts to control the fire completely is underway at the spot located in the B-Block of Sector 67, Noida.
Following the incident, several visuals of the incident surfaced, wherein one of the buildings can be seen engulfed in massive fire and thick plumes of smoke. A probe has been initiated to ascertain the cause of the fire.
Confirming the incident, Chief Fire Officer (CFO) Pradeep Kumar stated that the information was received at around 12 pm regarding fire in the garments company building in Noida Sector 67. As many as 29 fire tenders were rushed to the spot and efforts were initiated to control the fire.
Earlier today, a fire erupted at a market complex in Delhi's Vasant Vihar, just two days after a major blaze fully or partially gutted over 100 shops in the Chandni Chowk area.
On June 3, a short circuit in the air conditioning system of a private company in Noida had triggered a fire. The fire broke out on the ground and second floors of a garment manufacturing company named KM Leasing Limited located in Sector 10. An LPG cylinder on the building's third floor had also exploded as the firefighting operation was on.
Due to extreme heat, an explosion or fire involving an air conditioning (AC) unit can surface causing massive fire. Such incidents can occur due to various factors, often related to electrical or mechanical failures, according to the officials.
Citing various examples, the officials have urged the general public to not run their ACs continuously for long durations in order to prevent any mishap in extreme hot weather conditions.
The Delhi-NCR region has been reeling under a severe heatwave for the last couple of weeks. Temperatures have generally been reported over 42 degree Celsius.
