Following the private dinner hosted by Russian President Putin for Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Ministry of External Affairs called it a special gesture. 

After meeting Russian President Putin at his official residence for a private meeting and dinner in Moscow, Prime Minister Narendra Modi tweeted, "Gratitude to President Putin for hosting me at Novo-Ogaryovo this evening. Looking forward to our talks tomorrow as well, which will surely go a long way in further cementing the bonds of friendship between India and Russia."

"No joint communication with the media is foreseen," he said. "But we expect an extended exchange of views at both the private and extended sessions, which will largely compensate for the lack of statements to the media." 

Speaking about President Putin and PM Modi’s expected informal meeting later this evening, the Kremlin spokesman did not clarify where exactly it will take place. He also did not mention Ukraine in the upcoming talks.

A top Russian official on Monday said, President Vladimir Putin will hold extensive talks with Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday, both one-on-one and with delegations. 

"Around noon, Putin and Modi will start talking. We expect that there will be a private conversation, as well as Russian-Indian talks over an official breakfast,” Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov was quoted as saying by the state-owned TASS news agency.

“A memorable welcome in Moscow! I thank the Indian community for their affection,” wrote PM Modi on X.
