Delhi Police Issues Traffic Advisory for Friday. Check Routes to Avoid

The Delhi Traffic Police on Friday (August 16) issued an advisory for commuters who will travel near Rajghat and Sadaiv Atal

New Delhi: The Delhi Traffic Police on Friday (August 16) issued an advisory for commuters who will travel near Rajghat and Sadaiv Atal given rituals for Atal Bihar Vajyapee's sixth death anniversary.

"VVIP will visit Rajghat and Sadaiv Atal from 06:30 AM to 09:00 AM on 16.08.2024 to attend prayer meeting and offer floral tributes at the Samadhi of Bharat Ratna, Late Atal Bihari Vajpayee (former PM) on the occasion of his 6th death anniversary. To ensure safety and smooth flow of traffic following measures will be taken from 6:30 AM onwards on 16.08.2024," the advisory read.

As per the advisory, here are the possible diversions:

Ram Charan Aggarwal Chowk (A Point) 
Delhi Gate
Rajghat Chowk 
Shanti Van Crossing 
Y-Point Salim Garh 
Geeta Colony Flyover  
Subhash Park T-Point

Here's a list of roads to be avoided:

Heavy Commercial vehicles and Buses shall not be allowed on the following roads from 06:30 am to 9:00 am.

IP Marg 
Bahadurshah Zafar Marg 
Jawaharlal Nehru Marg 
Mahatma Gandhi Marg (between IP Flyover and Shanti Van Crossing)

Y-Point Salim Garh to Rajghat will remain completely close from 6:30 am to 09:00 am.

"Commuters are requested to cooperate by avoiding/bypassing the above mentioned roads, if possible, and make maximum use of public transport to reach their destinations. We appreciate your understanding and your cooperation towards alleviation of traffic congestions during the above mentioned period. People who are going towards ISBT/Railway Stations/Airports are advised to carefully plan their travel with sufficient time at hand, the notice advises.

Furthermore, the police listed different portals through which travellers can communicate with officials in case of emergency or difficulty.
