Viral News: A man's social media post is making rounds on social media where he shows school fee receipt of his child saying , “Middle class can not afford.”

The post shared by @rishsamjain on social media X comes with a witty caption that says, “Good education is luxury - which middle class can not afford.”

In this viral post man shares, “My daughter will start Grade 1 next year, and this is the fee structure of one of the schools we are considering in our city. Note that other good schools also have similar fees.”

The man further shares the entire breakup of school fees, that includes:

-Registration Charges: ₹2,000
- Admission Fees: ₹40,000
- Caution Money (Refundable): ₹5,000
- Annual School Fees: ₹2,52,000
- Bus Charges: ₹1,08,000
- Books & Uniform: ₹20,000”

Total: ₹4,27,000 per year!

"This is the price of quality education in India. Can you afford it even if you earn 20 lakh a year? - NO!!!

Why? Because 50% of your $20k income is extorted by the government in form of  Income Tax, GST, VAT on petrol, Road tax, Toll Tax, Professional tax, Capital Gain, Land Registry charges and so on. Then you still have to pay for term insurance, health insurance premiums, and PF,  NPS for a old age pension. At 20L income you fall in the highest 30% + CESS tax bracket, do not qualify for government schemes, and do not receive any freebies or loan waivers like rich.

In the remaining ₹10L, Either you can have food, clothes, pay rent or EMIs, and save something or you can pay school fees for your two kids ... decide!!

Which one would you choose?" added further.

Netizens React to Viral School Fee Post

One user says, “Admission Fees: ₹40,000 is charged every year? Uniform Fees is taken every year? Bus Charges: ₹1,08,000 , looks exxagerated number to me, even if the bus is taking ₹2500/month it will be ₹30,000 annual. I am not diverting from your views though! You are right that the tax bracket has not moved upwards like the IT salaries in India has not adjusted as per inflation!.”

Another user posted, “not sure which city you are in, but would you consider sending your kid to a government school? If not, why not? Have you included governments schools in the list of schools you are looking up for admission? (No judgment, just wanted to know your thoughts).”

As the school fee post grows viral, more and more people are jumping in and sharing their thoughts and opinions on modern-day school fee structure.
