‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ gets massive response, over 6 crore selfies with Indian flag uploaded

More than 6 crore selfies have been uploaded on the Har Ghar Tiranga portal as a part of the Independence Day celebrations. The Har Ghar Tiranga campaign is being organised from August 13-15, wherein the citizens have been asked to upload selfies with the national tricolour as India celebrates its 77th Independence Day. Prime Minister Narendra Modi had on Sunday (August 13) appealed to all the Indians to change their display picture on their social media platforms to the Indian flag. 

The Har Ghar Tiranga website showed that 6,00,43,946 selfies had been uploaded on the website by the people participating in the campaign till 3 pm on August 14. The home page of the Har Ghar Tiranga website has been designed with an option to upload the selfie. There are two options for the user to upload the Tiranga, either with a selfie with the national tricolour or just a digital national flag. 

Celebrities upload selfies

Scores of politicians, actors and sportspersons have uploaded their selfies with the tri-colour. The Indian National Flag is a symbol of national pride for the entire nation. To further honour our flag, Home Minister Amit Shah who oversees all efforts under Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav has approved the programme of ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’. It envisages inspiring Indians everywhere to hoist the national flag at their home.

On 15 January 2022, on the occasion of Army Day, the Indian Army unveiled the world’s largest Tiranga, at Jaisalmer. It was made of khadi and measured 33,750 square feet!

The country will celebrate the 77th Independence Day tomorrow and Prime Minister Narendra Modi will lead the nation in paying hogae to the freedom fighters and bravehearts who gave their all to ensure that we remain free.
