Haryana: In a move to celebrate and showcase the rich history, heritage, and vibrant culture of the state, Haryana is on the verge of adopting its own state song, termed "Rajya Geet." Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar introduced an official resolution during the opening day of the Winter Session at the Haryana Assembly on Friday.

The resolution emphasized that Haryana, which came into existence on November 1, 1966, holds deep historical significance, being a center of tradition and culture since the pre-Vedic period. It highlighted the state's recognition as one of the leading states in Bharat (India) today.

Three songs played in the Assembly- Final decision soon

Three songs, carefully chosen by the government, were played in the Assembly. The final decision on the state song for the upcoming year will be made collectively by the House.

The resolution pointed out that while Haryana possesses its emblem, it lacks a state song that encapsulates its history, culture, and the contributions of its people. The adoption of a state song is envisioned to provide a renewed sense of pride and identity to all Haryanvis, transcending caste, gender, religion, or economic status.

Chief Minister Khattar revealed that the song options underwent a meticulous selection process from 204 entries submitted by the people of the state in response to public invitations through newspaper advertisements.

The adopted state song will have an initial duration of one year. Chief Minister Khattar sought the support of the House in making the final selection, hoping that the chosen song would reflect the collective will of the Assembly and the people of Haryana.

Members of the Assembly are encouraged to share their opinions on the proposed songs by December 19, and if desired, propose new drafts for consideration.
