Ice Cream Kha Li, Payment Nahi Ho Raha!: Hilarious Reactions Flood Social Media as UPI Faces Outage

New Delhi: Several users reported issues with the Unified Payments Interface (UPI), with many taking to social media to share screenshots of payment failures. 

Many netizens expressed concerns, wondering whether the problem was isolated to them or if it was affecting users across the country.

Taking his frustration to X, a user wrote, “Why is UPI down? Ice cream kha li payment nahi ho raha kya karu (Why is UPI down? I have eaten ice cream but now unable to do payment).” 

“UPI Down, Nationwise issue or it's only me ?” another wrote. 

‘Elders Were Right About Carrying Cash’

Another user remarked that the elders were absolutely right about the importance of carrying cash.

“UPI is down for the first time & it is already showing an impact. Most of us already stopped carrying liquid cash & this downtime has created a do or die situation. Elders were right about carrying cash,” a user who goes by the name Yashwant Palghat wrote.

According to DownDetector, there were 2,750 complaints related to UPI snag as on 7:50 pm. There were 296 complaints by Google Pay users according to the website.
