Bank Employee Commits Suicide in Bengaluru, Family Alleges Workplace Harassment
A tragic incident happens in Bengaluru as an ICICI Bank sales head allegedly commits suicide due to workplace harassment and extreme work pressure.
Bengaluru: A tragic case of alleged workplace harassment has emerged from Bengaluru, where Vivek Samdarshi, a regional head of sales at ICICI Bank, has reportedly committed suicide. His family claims that relentless workplace pressure and harassment from senior officials led to his death.
Vivek’s elder brother, Vikash Samdarshi, has lodged a complaint at Thalaghattapura Police Station, naming Raghu Kumar (Regional Head, ICICI Home Loan Department) and John Joseph (Zonal Head, ICICI Bank Home Loan Department) as responsible for abetting the suicide.
Allegations of Harassment
According to the complaint, Vivek, who had been working at ICICI Bank for over five years, frequently expressed distress over workplace humiliation and excessive pressure from his superiors. His family alleges that Raghu Kumar once told him, “If you can’t perform, you should die,” while John Joseph allegedly ignored Vivek’s concerns, allowing the harassment to continue unchecked.
The tragedy came to light when Vikash received a call at 3 AM on March 7, 2025, informing him that his brother had been admitted to the hospital in critical condition. But despite efforts by doctors, Vivek was declared dead at 11:30 PM at Dhee Hospital.
