“India's time has come,” said Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw in an exclusive conversation with Republic. The minister talked about India's stand in the global semiconductor market. He also spoke about Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision for the nation. “Our Prime Minister is extremely focussed on the development of the North East. PM Modi has focussed on highway connectivity, railway connectivity, optical fiber connectivity or electrical power supply connectivity, etc. He has visited North East 50 times in his 10 years. No other PM would have ever done these kinds of visits to North East,” said Ashwini Vaishnaw to Republic on India's Big Chip Mission .

Fact Finding Team for Sandeshkhali Meets Victims in West Bengal
In a significant development in the Sandeshkhali incident, a fact finding team led by Former chief justice of Patna High Court, L Narasimha Reddy visited to some villages in West Bengal's Sandeshkhali.
The fact-finding team covered three places in Sandeshkhali and interacted with locals of Majherpara who revealed their grievances. The general complaint was related to Shahjahan's mafia and his aides Uttam Sardar and others over land grabbing incidents. Money sharks were also snatching money from people. Their contribution was being given to the TMC government," said fact-finding team.
West Bengal's Sandeshkhali has been witness to widespread protests over allegations of sexual atrocities and land grab by local TMC leaders.

Former Chief Justice Leads Probe into Sandeshkhali Human Rights Violations
Kolkata: A committee led by former Chief Justice of Patna High Court, Justice L Narsimha Reddy (Retd), is set to investigate human rights violations in Sandeshkhali. The team, which includes retired IPS officer Raj Pal Singh, advocate Charu Wali Khanna, and former NHRC registrar OP Vyas, will visit three areas: Majher Para, Natun Para, and Naskar Para Ras Temple.
Their mission is to talk to victims and compile a report. This report will be given to the Indian authorities. The committee aims to shed light on the situation and seek justice for those affected. They are scheduled to visit on Sunday.

Modi Chairs Key Ministers' Meet Amidst Looming Lok Sabha Elections
New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to lead a meeting of the Union Council of Ministers on Sunday, which is expected to be the final one during his government's second term, with Lok Sabha elections anticipated for April-May. The meeting, scheduled for 9:30 am at Sushma Swaraj Bhawan in Delhi, is important as the ruling National Democratic Alliance (NDA), led by the BJP, aims to continue its tenure for a third term.
The Election Commission is likely to announce the poll schedule soon. In 2014, elections were announced on March 5 and results declared on May 16, while in 2019, the schedule was announced on March 10, with results declared on May 23.
