'Is There Any Bomb in My Bag?': Passenger Boarding Air India Flight Arrested for 'Alarming' Comment

Cochin: A passenger, travelling on an Air India flight to Mumbai, was arrested from the Cochin Airport for his ‘alarming comment’ to a CISF officer.

The passenger, during security check asked the officer if there was a bomb in his bag.

Passenger Arrested at Cochin Airport

A passenger, 42-year-old Manoj Kumar (42) was arrested this morning at Cochin International Airport for making an 'alarming comment' to a CISF officer at the X-ray Baggage Inspection System (XBIS) checkpoint.

Manoj Kumar was scheduled to fly from Cochin (COK) to Mumbai (BOM) on Air India flight AI 682.

‘Is There Any Bomb in My Bag?’

A press release by Cochin International Airport states, "During the pre-embarkation security check, Mr. Kumar asked the CISF officer, "Is there any bomb in my bag?"

The question by the passenger caused alarm and panic at the airport.

Airport Security Term Alerted, Bomb Disposal Squad Called

This statement triggered immediate concern and prompted the airport security team to take swift action. The passenger's cabin and checked baggage were thoroughly inspected by the Bomb Detection and Disposal Squad (BDDS). 

After completing the necessary checks, which revealed no threat, Mr. Kumar was handed over to the local police for further investigation."
