Delhi Airport Systems Yet To Be Fully Recovered After Outage

Yesterday, multiple flights across the country were delayed and/or cancelled amid the global outage and airports had issued separate advisories.

Speaking about today, the DigiYatra systems in Gates 1-3 of the Delhi's Indira Gandhi International Airport Terminal 3 are non-operational.

Boarding pass generation remains a tedious task for international passengers as authorities resort to manual passes.

It has also been confirmed by the Delhi Airport that while there is significant improvement in the situation today, the overall systems will take time to recover completely. 

IndiGo Airlines Cautions Passengers of Potential Delays

In a recent update, the IndiGo Airlines at the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Airport in Mumbai have warned the passengers of possible delays in flights as they recover from the outage.

The operations at Mumbai Airport are smoother than Delhi and Bengaluru Airport; however, two domestic flights to Kochi and Varanasi were cancelled and some international flights were rescheduled. 

What Was the Microsoft Global Outage?

The CrowdStrike-Microsoft outage, which occurred early Friday, stands out as one of the largest IT disruptions in history. 

The global outage, causing ‘Blue Screen of Death’ error messages severely affected financial markets, including banks and non-banking financial companies (NBFCs), disrupting trading activities and transactions. Public transport systems, aviation operations, corporate enterprises, media broadcasting, and the hospitality industry have also been hit hard, experiencing widespread service interruptions and operational chaos.
