Maharashtra Rains: Mumbai and suburbs will see moderate to heavy rain on Friday, with isolated very heavy downpours, and gusty winds up to 60 kmph. The IMD has issued an orange alert for Mumbai, Thane, Palghar, and Sindhudurg, and a red alert for Raigad and Ratnagiri. Pune faced severe damage, with three electrocutions and one landslide fatality, leading to school closures in affected areas.

3 Rivers Running Above Danger Level in Raigad
Kishan Jawale, District Collector, Raigad said, “Due to incessant rainfall in Raigad, three rivers were running above danger level. We got a message that a cargo boat had run aground off and 14 people were stuck in it…we took the help of local divers…but because of the high tide, we decided to do the rescue op with the Indian Coast Guard’s helicopter…India Coast Guard’s helicopter rescued all 14 people safely…their medical check-up will be done.”
