Monsoon: IMD Issues Yellow Alert for Mumbai, Heavy Showers Likely At isolated places In Maharashtra

Mumbai: Several parts of India, including Mumbai, Dakshina Kannada, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, and Assam, are experiencing heavy rains. The IMD has issued a red alert in Mumbai, Dakshina Kannada, and an orange alert in Udupi, Uttara Kannada.
Heavy rains continue to lash Mumbai and adjoining areas, disrupting suburban train services and flight operations as normal life was thrown out of gear in the metropolis.

• IMD predicts Heavy Rainfall at Isolated places in Maharashtra, Issues Yellow Alert for Mumbai 

Heavy rainfall has been predicted in Palghar, Thane, Jalgaon, Beed, Nanded, Nagpur, Wardha and other nearby districts till July 12. Met Department also issued a Yellow warning for Mumbai till Wednesday morning.
 

• Heavy Rains Prompt Closure of Over 42 roads in Himachal Pradesh 

The State Emergency Operation Centre said 18 roads in Shimla, 17 in Mandi, three in Kangra and two each in Kinnaur and Kullu districts were closed.

•  IAF rescues 7 people marooned in Sharda river in  Pilibhit due to sudden increase in water flow

NDRF boats that were positioned in the district were unable to reach the stranded people, following this the IAF sprung into action upon a request by Uttar Pradesh Relief Commissioner's office

• IMD predicts light to moderate rains over next 3-4 hours

Met Department has issued a warning for Mumbai and Palghar, stating that light to moderate spells of rain are likely in isolated pockets over the next 3-4 hours. 

• Buildings in flood-affected Uttarakhand's Khatima remain inundated following heavy rainfall in the region.

• Heavy rainfall triggers waterlogging in several areas of Khatima in Uttarakhand's Udham Singh Nagar. 
• Heavy rain lashes parts of Delhi-NCR.

• The weather department has predicted isolated moderate to heavy rains in some parts of Delhi.
• Assam Governor Gulab Chand Kataria says, “A flood-like situation more or less persists in Assam every year".

• The IMD has predicted moderate rain in Bengaluru city and rural areas for today and tomorrow. 
• Waterlogged railway tracks witnessed at Wadala Station of Mumbai amid heavy rains in city.

• Heavy rainfall triggers flood-like situation in low-lying areas of Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh.
• Due to heavy rain forecast in Mumbai, all exams scheduled for today at the University of Mumbai have been postponed. New dates will be announced soon.
• Heavy to very heavy rainfall in Mumbai

• The Dakshina Kannada district administration has issued a 'red alert' for Tuesday. Schools and colleges will remain closed today.
• The Harbour line track was operationalised at 4.30 am after the water receded. Main Line both fast and slow locals are running 2-3 min behind schedule and harbour line locals are running almost on time now.
• Schools and junior colleges in Mumbai, Thane, Navi Mumbai, Panvel, and Pune as well as rural parts of Ratnagiri-Sindhudurg will remain closed on Tuesday.
• The weather office has issued a red alert for Mumbai, Ratnagiri, Raigad, Satara, Pune, and Sindhudurg districts and an orange alert for Thane and Palghar on Tuesday.
