Two central offices of NCP in Delhi: Ajit Pawar-led NCP opens new office

The Ajit Pawar faction of the Nationalist Congress Party inaugurated a new central office in New Delhi, so now the NCP has two separate central offices in the national capital. The move comes after the party was ousted from its Ravi Shankar Shukla Lane headquarters after losing the national party status. NCP had lost its national party status in April this year, after it lost national party status after gaining it in 2000, just a year after its formation. 

The Ajit Pawar-led faction inaugurated a new party office at 79, North Avenue with working president Praful Patel performing a 'havan' coinciding with the ongoing Navratri festival. Patel had himself shared the images on social media platform X (formerly Twitter). “Excited to share moments from the NCP party office inauguration ceremony in New Delhi!,” he wrote on X sharing a video of havan at the new office. 

“Sharing a few more glimpses from today's NCP party office inauguration ceremony in New Delhi. This office is a symbol of our commitment to serve the people with dedication and passion,” said Patel on the inauguration of the new office.

Earlier, the Sharad Pawar-led faction had inaugurated its central office at 81, Lodhi Estate in the national capital. The NCP lost its national party tag in April after it lost elections in Goa, Manipur and Meghalaya.

Ajit Pawar had pulled off a stunning revolt in the NCP triggering a vertical split and joined hands with the ruling Eknath Shinde-led Shiv Sena and BJP alliance in Maharashtra to become the deputy chief minister in July this year. NCP founder Sharad Pawar had called the rebellion by his nephew a “robbery”, to which chief minister Shinde had said, “This is not a googly but robbery.”
