BJP Yuva Morcha will be in mortuary if hand raised against Shamseer: CPM's Jayarajan
Yuva Morcha will be in mortuary if they raise their hand against AN Shamseer, stated senior Communist leader P Jayarajan Friday.
Yuva Morcha will be in mortuary if they raise their hand against AN Shamseer, stated senior Communist leader P Jayarajan Friday. The CPI(M) state committee leader was speaking in Thalassery on Thursday at a function held in connection with expressing solidarity with Manipur. He was replying to another fiery speech that was given by the Yuva Morcha leader during their protest held in Kannur. The Yuva Morcha Kannur has approached the police seeking to book CPI leader P Jayarajan for allegedly Issuing death threats against its activists. Yuva Morcha Kannur secretary Arjun submitted a complaint to Kannur City Police Commissioner over the inflammatory speech. In his complaint, he alleged that Jayarajan's threat would trigger political violence in the district.
The Yuva Morcha had taken out a protest march towards MLA AN Shamseer's camp office in Thalassery. Shamseer, who is also the speaker of Kerala Legislative Assembly had delivered a Hindu phobic speech to school students in Kochi during a function held on denigrating the Hindu deity. Shamseer told them to not follow myths and have a scientific temper to the audience of young children specifically mentioning the belief system of one particular religion.
As the protest intensified, BJP Yuva Morcha state general secretary K Ganeshan spoke during the protest that the communist know very well that they can insult the Hindu religion and they won't go through the fate of Professor T J Joseph. "But don't think that the Hindu community will always be unresponsive to insults," he had stated.
Take the case against Jayarajan: BJP President
Kerala BJP President K Surendran demanded the state government file a case against Jayarajan for his alleged threats made against the Yuva Morcha. "He should be stripped from being the vice chairman of Khadi Board for such inflammatory speech," stated Surendran. He also blamed CPIM for its inability to contain its violent streak, reminding yet again of the horrors of Kannur clashes between political parties.
Jayarajan himself is in CPIM mortuary and chides BJP Vice President
B Gopalakrishnan, BJP vice president took a jibe against Jayarajan by stating that he must come out of the mortuary of CPIM, as the red party had sidelined the veteran leader and strongman in Kannur politics by not giving him any electoral power. " The party and its cadres have deserted him. Now, using the old violent politics he is trying to worry his comrade Pinarayi Vijayan," he stated.
BJP Leader Responds with insinuating post
K Ganesh takes to Twitter with a photo of him standing in front of a mortuary board stating, " Heard elder brother Jayaraj is coming here, come soon with that beacon. I am waiting here,"
Another BJP leader Sandeep G Varrier took to Facebook with an Onam flower decor stating, "If a particle of sand falls on Yuva Morcha, we may have to come again," presumably referring to the attack against Jayarajan on Onam day in 1999.
The violent Kannur politics
P Jayarajan was attacked allegedly by members of RSS and BJP in 1999 on the day of Onam at his house. The attack led to Jayarajan losing a finger and injuring one of his arms for a long period and barely managed to survive the ordeal. Jayarajan was arrested in 2012 in connection with the murder of IUML worker Abdul Shukkor. Subsequently, the CBI charged him with the murder and for being involved in the conspiracy.
The central agency had also arraigned an accused in RSS worker E Baiju's murder.
The threats hold grave worry for law enforcement as the Kannur model of politics had witnessed gory violence between parties. As per an RTI filed by an activist in 2016, 31 RSS/BJP functionaries and 30 CPIM workers were killed in the violence. Following the slew of violence, a truce was called through delegations of various parties to bring the violence to a halt.
With the ongoing public and social media spat between leaders, law enforcement is keeping eyes on the back of their heads to ensure the oral insinuation doesn't escalate to violence.
