Shashi Tharoor is now leading in Thiruvananthapuram. Although, as of now, his lead is rather narrow. He is leading by just 925 votes.

BJP leading in Thiruvananthapuram by 16,000 seats

As of 1 PM, BJP's Rajeev Chandrashekhar is leading in Thiruvananthapuram by 16,000 votes. In Thrissur, BJP's Suresh Gopi is leading by a margin of 70,000 seats. Congress continues to lead in 13 seats.

BJP leading by 19,000 votes in Thiruvananthapuram

As of 12 noon, BJP's Rajeev Chandrashekhar is leading by around 19,000 votes. In Thrissur, BJP's Suresh Gopi is leading by around 56,000 votes. 

In the state, Congress is leading in 12 seats, CPI(M) in 2 seats and BJP in 2 seats.

BJP all set to win Thrissur?

Suresh Gopi is now leading in Thrissur by more than 30,000 votes. BJP's Rajeev Chandrashekhar is leading as well, from Thiruvananthapuram, although he is leading by only 5,000 votes. Chandrashekhar is contesting against Congress's incumbent MP, Shashi Tharoor.

Rahul Gandhi is leading from Wayanad by more than 90,000 votes. Congress is leading in 13 seats. Meanwhile, BJP is leading in 2 seats. Rajeev Chandrashekhar is now leading in Thiruvananthapuram by 4000 votes. Suresh Gopi is leading Thrissur by more than 25,000 votes.

Counting is underway in the 20 constituencies of Kerala. Voting was held on 26th April.

A look at the parties contending

Counting of votes will begin at 8AM. BJP is seeking to make inroads in Kerala. For years, only UDF and LDF have dominated the state. UDF (United Democratic Front) consists of Indian National Congress, Indian Union Muslim League, Revolutionary Socialist Party and Kerala Congress. Congress is contesting in 16 seats. IUML is contesting in 2 seats. Revolutionary Socialist Party and Kerala Congress are contesting in 1 seat each. 

LDF (Left Democratic Front) consists of Communist Party of India (Marxist), Communist Party of India, Kerala Congress (M). CPI(M) is contesting in 15 seats. CPI is contesting in 4 seats and Kerala Congress (M) is contesting in 1 seat. 

NDA consists of BJP and Bharath Dharma Jana Sena. BJP is contesting in 16 seats and Bharath Dharma Jana Sena is contesting in 4 seats.
