School charges Rs 8,400 as parents orientation fees for KG students: Internet baffled

In the midst of private school tuition skyrocketing, a school has been accused of charging an outrageous Rs 8,400 for parent orientation fees.

A picture displaying the Junior KG batch of 2024–25's fee schedule revealed this unusual fee, which caused a lot of confusion online. The unexpected addition, a special, one-time "Parent Orientation Charges," stood out in addition to standard expenses like admission fees, caution money, and development charges.

 From outrage to hilarity to bafflement, people expressed multitude of emotions on the image of the fee schedule. One user commented (translated from Hindi), “in order to pay the school fees, we have to shell out our entire salary I think we need to start educating our children in government schools.” To which another user replied, “not just salary, I think we have to take loan.”
