This Christmas, a bakery in Tamil Nadu has converted something conventionally associated with fear into an object of delicious feast; Jennifer’s bakery in in Mahadanatheru in the Mayiladuthurai district of the South Indian state has prepared a cake in the shape of a crocodile.
The three bakeries of the Jennifer’s bakery chain have prepared Crocodile-shaped cakes to join the Christmas festivity beginning from December 25. The unique cakes have struck a chord with the customers of the bakery in the sense it is captivating them as they enter the shops, often taking photos of the Croc-cakes.

Moreover the hotels and city bakeries are all set to welcome their customers through both in-house and public cake-mixing celebrations. These festivities entail vibrant ceremonies with people engaging in the preliminary baking process, soaking dry fruits, nuts, spices, and sugar in alcohol. In a similar programme in Courtyard by Marriott in Tiruchi, guests were invite to partake in a grand ceremony to collectively prepare a feast by mixing about 100 kg of dried fruits, nuts and spices with alcohol and cranberry juice.
The Cake Bee chain of stores in Tiruchi, Chennai, Coimbatore and Madurai, has taken a massive task of preparing over 1,000 kg of fruit cake. The chefs at the Cake Bee have lined up a mix of about 12 varieties of dry fruits and nuts for Christmas confectionery, keeping in mind the tastes of customers with varied preferences. The chain of stores has introduced eggless and non-alcoholic fruit cakes.
