UPSC topper who voluntarily retired to help her daughter- Driving force behind Tina Dabi's success

UPSC Success Story: Currently holding the positions of District Collector and Magistrate in Jaisalmer, Tina Dabi, the 2016 UPSC exam topper, is a well-known figure among Indian IAS officers. As Tina Dabi is a popular IAS officer, this story will focus on her mother, Himani Kamble Dabi, who has been instrumental in her success as well as that of her sister Ria.
Who is Ria Dabi?
Ria Dabi works as an assistant collector in Alwar, Rajasthan, following her placement as the 15th All India Rank candidate in the 2020 UPSC exam. Manish Kumar, an IPS officer and Ria Dabi's husband, cleared the UPSC test in the same year that they were legally married in April 2023. After that, Kumar was sent to Rajasthan.
Himali Kamble Dabi: Epitome of Sacrifice
Tina and Ria Dabi's mother, Himali Dabi, is a retired Indian Engineering Services officer and a former UPSC topper. She was also a topper of Maulana Azad National Institute of Technology Bhopal. She voluntarily retired to assist Tina Dabi in her aspiration to become an IAS officer. Himali emphasized the difficulties of studying for the UPSC exam in an interview, saying, "This exam is not easy to prepare for. It's quite difficult."
Tina Dabi, on her part, acknowledged her mother's hard work by becoming an IAS officer. Ria has also often credited her mother, HImani, for being the reason for her success.
