 New Delhi: United States extended warm greetings to India in celebration of its 78th Independence day on Thursday. 

 Secretary of State Antony Blinken issued a statement on behalf of United States, wishing the country its 78th Independence Day

"On behalf of the United States of America, I extend my heartfelt congratulations to the people of India as they mark the anniversary of their independence on August 15," stated Secretary of State Antony Blinken.

On India's Independence Day, U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken also noted the swift expansion of the relationship between the two nations.

"On this significant occasion, we honor the vibrant and diverse history of the Indian people and look forward to the promising future of U.S.-Indian relations. Our broad global and strategic partnership is anchored in the strong connections between our peoples and economies, and is built upon our mutual dedication to democracy, freedom, and human dignity," said Antony Blinken.

 Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to address the nation from the Red Fort on country's 78th Independence Day.

This speech marks PM Modi's 11th consecutive address from the Red Fort following his re-election with a new mandate.
