Diwali 2023: Laxmi Puja vidhi, date and auspicious time for rituals

Diwali, also known as Deepavali, is one of the most significant festivals in India, celebrated with great enthusiasm and fervour. This year the joyous occasion will be celebrated on November 12. The festival is celebrated to mark the triumph of light over darkness and good over evil. Among the various rituals and customs associated with Diwali, one of the most important is the Laxmi Puja, dedicated to the goddess of wealth and prosperity, Laxmi. Laxmi Puja Vidhi (Procedure)

Performing Laxmi Puja on Diwali is believed to invite wealth and prosperity into one's home. Here is a step-by-step guide on how to perform Laxmi Puja

Preparations

-Clean and decorate the area where the Puja will take place. Use colourful rangoli designs, flower petals, and Diwali lights to create an inviting atmosphere.

- Place a Chowki (a wooden platform) for the idols or images of Goddess Laxmi and Lord Ganesha.

- Arrange all necessary Puja items, including incense sticks, lamps, flowers, fruits, sweets, and a Panchamrit (a mixture of milk, curd, honey, sugar, and ghee) for the offerings.

Prepare the Deities

- Begin by lighting the lamps and incense sticks.

- Place idols or images of Goddess Laxmi and Lord Ganesha on the Chowki.

- Offer flowers and perform Aarti to welcome the deities.

Mantras and Prayers

- Chant mantras dedicated to Goddess Laxmi and Lord Ganesha, such as the Laxmi Gayatri Mantra and Ganesha Mantra.

- Offer your prayers and gratitude for the blessings of wealth and prosperity.

Offering Prasad

- Offer fruits, sweets, and Panchamrit to the deities.

- Distribute the Prasad among family members and guests as a symbol of sharing your wealth and happiness.

Aarti and Bhajans

Sing Aarti and bhajans (devotional songs) in praise of Goddess Laxmi and Lord Ganesha.

Light diyas (lamps) and perform a grand Aarti.

Laxmi Puja 2023 shubh muhurat 

This year, Laxmi puja will take place on November 12. The auspicious timing for the puja this year is between 02:44 PM on Sunday to 02:56 PM on Monday. During this auspicious period, you can have to establish the yantra of Goddess Lakshmi, Lord Ganesha, and Lord Kubera in your home.
