PM Modi Hails India's 'Vibrant' Space Sector During 78th Independence Day Celebrations

Addressing the nation from the ramparts of the Red Fort, PM Modi highlighted that the government has made many reforms in the space sector

New Delhi: Celebrating India's 78th Independence Day on Thursday, August 15, Prime Minister Narendra Modi hailed the space sector saying that it plays a crucial role in making India a strong nation.  Addressing the nation from the ramparts of the Red Fort, PM Modi highlighted that the government has made many reforms in the space sector, liberating it from the restrictions of the past, "Hundreds of start-ups have come up in the space sector. It is becoming vibrant. It is playing a key role in making India a strong nation. We have made many reforms in the space sector. We have liberated it from the restrictions of the past," the prime minister said.

In his 11th speech at the Red Fort to mark India's 78th Independence Day, Prime Minister Narendra Modi asserted that the government is committed to making big reforms highlighting its resolve to make India a developed nation by 2047, by underscoring the efforts made by 40 crore people to help India in making a free country.

"We are proud that we carry the blood of the 40 crore people who had uprooted colonial rule from India... If 40 crore people can break the shackles of slavery to gain freedom, just imagine what can be achieved by the resolve of 140 crore people," Prime Minister Modi said.

The Prime Minister also paid tribute to people who sacrificed their lives for India. "Today is the day to pay tributes to the uncountable 'Azaadi ke Deewane' who made sacrifices for the nation. This country is indebted to them."

The Prime Minister was spotted wearing a Rajasthani leheriya print turban and wore a white kurta-pyjama. He accentuated his look with a light blue bandhgala jacket.

The Prime Minister emphasised that the government is committed to big reform to transform lives and strengthen the country. He also made a special mention of development in the space sector and helping women become financially independent.

"Earlier, people wanted change, but their aspirations were not paid heed to. We brought about big reforms on the ground. Our commitment to reforms is not for temporary applause or due to compulsions, but has resolve to strengthen the country."
