Denmark cruised past Canada 4-1 in their Uber Cup tie at the Thomas and Uber Cup finals in Aarhus, Denmark on Sunday.

Denmark cruised past Canada 4-1 in their Uber Cup tie at the Thomas and Uber Cup finals in Aarhus, Denmark on Sunday.

Mia Blichfeldt set the standard for the hosts in the opening match, taking a commanding 21-8 21-7 victory over Talia Ng.

Maiken Fruergaard and Sara Thygesen followed with a 22-20 21-16 win over Rachel Honderich and Kristen Tsai.

The pressure was left on Rachel Chen's shoulders to keep Canada's hopes alive, but she was no match for Line Christophersen who won the third match 21-13 21-16 and took the tie for Denmark.

The hosts didn't ease up though in the first of the dead rubbers, with Alexandra Boje and Mette Poulsen demolishing Catherine Choi and Crystal Lai 21-10 21-10.

In the last match Wen Yu Zhang delivered some consolation for Canada, forcing her way back from a game down to beat Line Hojmark Kjaersfeldt 15-21 22-20 21-17.
