'Got to be kidding': Prannoy's tweet on BWF draw resurfaces as takes on Lakshya Sen again
HS Prannoy reacted to the India Open 2023 draw, where he begins his campaign with a first-round match against fellow Indian player Lakshya Sen on Tuesday.
HS Prannoy’s tweet about the India Open 2023 draw has resurfaced on social media as he opens his campaign at the marquee event with the first round match against Lakshya Sen. Prannoy and Sen locked horns in the first round of India Open on Tuesday, January 17. Meanwhile. Prannoy’s tweet that he put out on December 28 has become a talking point for fans as both players fight each other.
Reacting to the India Open 2023 draw, Prannoy tagged his fellow Indian teammate and said, “looks like Tournament Software wants to see only us playing against each other in all tournaments”. He went on to add that this will be their seventh match against each other in the last one year. “You got to be kidding me,” Prannoy said at the conclusion of his tweet.

It is pertinent to mention that Prannoy and Lakshya were two of the best badminton players in India in 2022. Lakshya won the India Open 2022 and finished as runner-up in the German Open. He finished second in the All England Open 2022, before winning the Thomas Cup 2022 with the India men’s team.
Prannoy also played a key role for India in the Thomas Cup win. Lakshya then became the men’s singles final at the 2022 Commonwealth Games in Birmingham, while Prannoy reached the 2022 BWF World Championships quarterfinals. Lakshya also won the silver medal with India’s mixed team at the CWG 2022.
