Football is more than just a sport; it represents a culture of respect and honour. For many players, the pitch is holy, similar to a sanctuary where their life's purpose is fulfilled. The passion and reverence they show for the game reflect a deep-seated feeling that their lives depend on it, but few regard it as a normal sport.

Sebastian Munoz, a Peruvian football player, was given a red card for urinating on the pitch in a somewhat rare occurrence. The incident happened on a lower-division Copa Peru game between Atletico Awajun and Cantorcillo FC.

Play was stopped in the 71st minute as Awajun was ready to make a corner kick as the Cantorcillo custodian was undergoing minor injury care. Munoz turned away from the action and urinated against the side wall while waiting close to the corner flag so the game might start again.

Players from Cantorcillo warned the referee right away about Munoz's actions. Clearly agitated, the referee went up to Munoz and instantly handed a red card, shocking the midfielder.

This episode reminds the football world of earlier events when athletes behaved unhygienically on the pitch. Once hopping over the advertising boards, former Arsenal custodian Jens Lehmann rested himself at the side of the pitch and returned in time to halt an opposing attack. Besides, Gary Lineker from England notoriously excreted on the field during a 1990 World Cup game against Ireland.
