High-intensity interval training ( HIIT) involves short bursts of intense exercise alternating with low-intensity recovery periods. Considered to be the most time-efficient way to exercise, HIIT workouts will be 10-30 minutes in duration. Despite how short the workout is, it produces health benefits similar to twice as much moderate-intensity exercise.

Regardless of how one implements it, HIIT involves high-intensity short periods of vigorous exercise that makes the heart rate speed up.

It is found that HIIT burns 25-30% more calories than another workout and a HIIT repetition consists of 20 seconds of maximal effort followed by 40 seconds of rest.

-Fasten Up The Metabolic Rate: Enhancing the metabolic rate post-workout is one of the best factors of HIIT workouts. It has been demonstrated by several studies that HIIT increases the metabolic rate for hours post-workout session. Also, it has been found that HIIT uses fat for energy during workouts rather than carbs.

-Helps lose body fat: Despite having a short time commitment, HIIT makes anyone lose fat faster. The property of an increase in metabolic rate makes these workouts worth adopting.

-Responsible For Muscle Gain: The gain in muscle mass primarily in the muscles being used the most. As per the research, weight training is the only way of training to get muscle mass but adding HIIT workouts will also fuel up the muscle growth.

- Reduces the heart rate and blood pressure: In research, it is found that HIIT reduces the heart rate and normalizes the blood pressure more than the frequently recommended moderate-intensity exercise.

As per a study, it is found that 8 weeks of HIIT on a stationary bike lowers the risk of blood pressure spikes.

-Reduces Blood Sugar: From a recent study, it has come out that HIIT training not only reduces blood sugar but also improves insulin resistance than traditional moderate workouts.
