India defeat mighty Aussies by 6 wickets
On Sunday, hosts, Team India began its operations in the ICC ODI World Cup. The daunting challenge of Australia came up first and from the outset it was known that to neutralize a side like Australia, every department from batting, bowling, and fielding, all have to in tandem.
After Australian captain Pat Cummins opted to bat first it was the bowlers and fielders, who came into focus first. The bowling spearhead Jasprit Bumrah took the breakthrough of Mitchell Marsh in the third over. Following that, David Warner and Steve Smith steadied the ship of Aus. However, the partnership was soon broken as spinners came to wreak havoc on the Australian innings. Ravindra Jadeja, Ravichandran Ashwin, and Kuldeep Yadav devastated Australia's innings and courtesy of that they could only post a total of 199.
Chasing 200, India got off to a horrendous start as the first three batsmen- Ishan Kishan, Rohit Sharma, and Shreyas Iyer- went without troubling the scorers. While everything fell into place for India, as Virat Kohli and KL Rahul staged a comeback from a position where 3 wickets were down at the score of 2, the reactions by some of the experts did not spare the batsmen who got out without contributing anything to the board.

"No 4 batsman has to absorb the pressure !! Need better thinking from@ShreyasIyer15 when team is trying to rebuild their innings ! Still don’t understand why @klrahul is not batting at no 4 ! After scoring a 100 against Pakistan ! Dropping @imVkohli might cost australia big time , don’t drop the king cause he can take the game away. Game on!!, Yuvraj said. Shreyas Iyer played a rash shot early in the innings and got out without troubling the scorers.
