The Indian wrestler was all set to fight for the prestigious Olympic Gold Medal against USA's Sarah Hildebrandt. But in an unfortunate change in events, she has been disqualified and has also lost out on a confirmed silver medal. 

After her victorious semi-final bout, Vinesh had been up all night and tried every possible thing to cut down her weight before her final bout in Paris.

How Vinesh and coaches tried hard to make the cut

Unfortunately Vinesh Phogat has been ousted from the finals after she was found to be nearly 100 grams overweight during her morning weigh-in, which prompted the officials to disqualify her before the medal match. An entire controversy has sparked, which has caused chaos in the country and among the members of her contingent.

The entire coaching and support staff of Vinesh Phogat had been trying their best for the women's wrestler to make weight for the morning weigh-in. To make the cut, the athlete, her coaches, and her support staff went without food or water for a restless night. They tried drastic methods like chopping her hair and trying to bring out blood. But all the methods failed and did not provide the desired results, as reported by Sportstar.
