First impressions

After exploring the independent circuit, Sami Zayn's big breakthrough came in 2013. He made his way into WWE's developmental circuit under the Sebei. He eventually settled with Sami Zayn. He gained major traction in the black and gold brand. He made his mainstream debut on the May 4, 2015, edition of WWE Raw. He was announced as the opponent of now 16-time World Champion John Cena. Moreover, his name was called by none other than the WWE Hall of Famer Bret "The Hitman" Hart. He lost the battle for the US Championship against Cena but won many hearts.

Rivalry and camaraderie with Kevin Owens

In WWE, his rivalry with real-life friend Kevin Owens was one of the most intense ones. The two battled it out several times and had quite a funny relationship as enemies and sometimes friends. The two came together in 2023 as well. They joined hands to fight The Bloodline. Zayn and Owens dethroned The Usos from the WWE Undisputed Tag Team championship. They recently parted ways as Owens has been drafted to SmackDown.

What does the future hold for Sami Zayn?

Sami Zayn has already carried the US Title and Intercontinental championship and now the World Championship could be his next step in the WWE. The wrestler has fought Roman Reigns before and had failed due to outside interferences. Since he is on Raw, he could challenge Seth Rollins for the championship. Zayn has served the WWE for quite a long now and the time may eventually come when he will receive his due.
