CM Punk on whether he will be present at Survivor Series
During his recent appearance on 670 The Score, the former AEW Champion was asked if he would be attending the forthcoming premium live event of WWE. Punk responded diplomatically, pointing out that it was difficult to secure tickets and that the arena was already sold out.
One of the most divisive figures in pro wrestling history, CM Punk, was seven-year hiatus from the industry. His return generated a lot of excitement for AEW, but his time working under Tony Khan's promotion was marred by controversy and injury.
Konnan on CM Punk's possible return to WWE
Notwithstanding several backstage problems, Punk's star power is indisputable. Similar opinions appear to be held by veteran wrestler Konnan, who feels that WWE should accept the Second City Saint even though they don't absolutely need him.
"Bro, this is a great chance. You're going to Chicago. I know you're hot, but why not have another hot storyline ... they've got to see the traction that Punk creates. Look at the traction he creates when we talk about him, and so he creates traction. He's got a story. I gotta think they want to use him, but you know, we'll see," Konnan said.
CM Punk abruptly left the Stamford-based promotion in 2014. After a disagreement with management, he was fired on his wedding day. But earlier this year, the celebrity apparently attempted to put the hatchet to rest when he was present backstage at RAW. Only time will tell if that results in him going back to the squared circle.
