Roman Reigns Makes Shock Return At WWE SummerSlam, Takes Out Solo Sikoa To Help Cody Rhodes Retain

WWE SummerSlam 2024 produced some unexpected results that nobody saw it coming from miles away. To put things into perspective, Damian Priest, who looked all set to cement his reign following Money in the Bank victory over Seth Rollins, has been dethroned by GUNTHER, who has captured the WWE Heavyweight title, thanks to Finn Balor though. Aside from all these talking points, the unexpected twist, which few might have anticipated, came in the main event, in the Cody Rhodes vs Solo Sikoa match.

Roman Reigns Returns, Costs Solo Sikoa The Match Against Cody Rhodes

Roman Reigns, who was nowhere to be seen after the culmination of his 1316-day reign as the WWE Universal Champion, has returned and apparently turned face. The Tribal Chief unleashed his anger on Solo Sikoa, who declared himself as the new leader of the Bloodline in the absence of Reigns, and cost him the title opportunity against Cody Rhodes. Reigns delivered a Super Man punch to Sikoa and followed it up with a devastating spear, setting him up for Cody to pull off yet another Crossrhodes to end the match.

The former WWE Universal Champion marked his comeback with a new theme, which was reminiscent of the grand orchestral welcome that he got at WrestleMania 40.

After leaving Solo Sikoa on the floor, Roman Reigns made eye contact with his former rival Cody Rhodes and hinted that the business between the two is not over yet.

Besides Roman Reigns' appearance, the Cody Rhodes vs Solo Sikoa match saw interference from Jacob Fatu, Tama Loa and Tama Tonga, who came to aid Sikoa. For the champion, Kevin Owens and Randy Orton turned up.
