'They told me...': Former WWE Champion offers new injury update, clears the air on wrestling future

Injuries have been one of the most unforgiving parts of a wrestler's career. It has shortened careers and even forced some of the wrestlers to retire despite their will. But some of them have made miraculous recoveries and are having the best time of their life in the ring. The WWE Universe is waiting for one such wrestler to return to action. His Championship reign was well-loved among the fans, and they cannot wait to see him return to action

Former WWE Champion shares injury update, details on his in-ring return

Former WWE World Champion Big E, while speaking on the Busted Open Radio, shared a new update on his broken neck and whether or not he will return to action. The multi-time Tag Team Champion disclosed that there isn't a set return date at this moment and that his absence from the ring has been much longer than initially thought.

“I wish I had more information for you. Right now, there is really no timeline. I’ve been to a few different doctors who have looked over my scans. I don’t have any issues, I feel great, but I broke my C1 in two different places, it’s called a Jefferson fracture and because of the nature of the fracture, it takes longer to heal. Initially, they told me three months. I thought three months and I would be back to wrestling, but things ended up being more complex.

Has Big E made his exit from WWE?

The multi-time tag team champion may not be active in the wrestling scene. But he remains an integral part of the company and actively takes part in the initiatives that the WWE puts forward. Big E is an active member of WWE's community outreach program and has been doing off-screen work for the brand. However, his wrestling future might be in jeopardy, as during the SummerSlam press conference, he revealed that the doctors have advised him not to wrestle again. 

It remains to be seen whether the former WWE champion will return to in-ring action.
